Go to Statistics / Model Estimation; in the Model Estimation dialog box, enter the following:
- Under the "Dependent" tab, select: HBO_P (for the model desired)
- Under the "Independent" tab: Select those variables which you think are relevant to the dependent variable in question. Click on Add to move the variables you want to the Estimation Fields list, which transcad will use as the independent variables for the regression estimation.
- Using: All records (transcad will not include records with no data in the model estimation)
- Select Regression under Methods.
After clicking OK, a prompt to provide a file name for your model appears. Type in HBO_P_1.mod. The first 3 characters correspond to trip purposes. The fourth identifies a "production" or "attraction". The 1 is used as a counter for alternate model estimations. The same naming scheme also should be adopted for any other models. Click OK on the Save as dialog box. On the Results Summary dialog box that opens, click on Show Report to display a text file named tcw_rep.txt with Notepad. This file contains the results of the regression analysis. Evaluate the estimation results. Save this text file as HBO_P_1.txt in your directory (otherwise, the results of this analysis will be overwritten in subsequent model estimations). Close the R
