4.3.2 Conversion from Person Trips to Vehicle Trips
An analysis of the household interview survey conducted previously in this study has produced estimates of vehicle occupancy by trip purpose.

Adjusting Trip Matrices
Open the TAZ geographic file, the p-a.mtx matrix file, and hourly.dbf. Go to Planning / PA to OD. The Convert PA Matrix to OD Matrix dialog box appears. Enter the following:
- PA Matrix file: P-A
- Lookup Dataview: HOURLY
- Report hours: 5 to 6 (PM-peak)
- Highlight HBW under Matrices
- Check the Use Matrix HBW box
- Hourly Percent Departure: DEP_HBW
- Hourly Percent Return: RET_HBW
- Check Convert person trips to vehicle trips under Option
- Average occupancy: enter values for each trip purpose (based on Table 7)
- Hourly Adjustment: No adjustment factor
