- For UNIX systems the minimum requirements are:
- Sufficient hard disk space for your data bank (maximum data bank size: 2 or 4 Gigabytes, depending on the operating system)
- A minimum of 16 Mb is recommended
1.0.8: Is EMME/2 year 2000 (Y2K) compliant?
Yes. Although EMME/2 uses two digits to represent the year on plots and in reports, it uses four digits internally. As far as EMME/2 is concerned, the year 2000 will naturally follow the year 1999. EMME/2 does not contain an internal clock of its own. It relies on the operating system clock. As long as this clock is accurate, EMME/2 will not generate time or date errors. EMME/2 also has built-in safeguards. If the computer on which EMME/2 is instalLED is not year 2000 compliant and resets itself to an erroneous date, EMME/2 will recognize that the date of the data bank is more recent than the date posted by the operating system. It will then issue a warning message, and will prompt for authorization before proceeding.
Note that, in order to highlight the fact that EMME/2 is year 2000 compliant, Release 9 allows for a new alternate date format (switch 25), which explicitly displays the four digit year number.
